Yes, absolutely. You can travel with a child as long as your group does not exceed 3 people per vehicle. That’s the maximum we recommend to keep the trip comfortable, especially with all the camping gear provided.
If you are traveling with 3 people and your child is over 8 years old, we will provide an additional ground tent. If they are younger, they can sleep with you in the roof tent or in the converted van.
If you are traveling with a young child, you are also entitled to an additional discount. Just email us to request it.
If you want to travel with 2 children or more, unfortunately, you will need to book 2 vehicles. With all the camping gear included, traveling with more than 3 people in the same vehicle is not comfortable.

Camping, whether in a rooftop tent or a converted van, is the most immersive option. With Iceland Nomads, the camping spots are reserved in advance for you: when you arrive, just show up and choose your spot. Each campsite has restrooms and shelters.
Unfortunately, our road trip is not designed for solo travelers, mainly due to the long distances to cover. We recommend traveling with at least 2 people, and prices are always calculated based on this. It's possible to go alone, but in that case, the base price is doubled.

Upon your arrival in Iceland, you are warmly welcome by our French-speaking team, who will give you an explanatory note before your road trip begins.
Throughout the journey, you'll find useful information in our mobile app, which also includes a messaging feature: you can chat with other participants leaving on the same date, and a team member is available in case of emergency.
We offer a 7 or 10-day road trip, fully mapped out, so it’s not possible to adjust the duration or itinerary of the trip. However, you are free to follow the route exactly or deviate from it as you wish, and to extend your stay on your own initiative (for example, by staying a few extra days in Iceland after the road trip).

Depending on availability, you can add or remove most options (except cancellation insurance) until a few weeks before departure. Generally, we follow a first-come, first-served principle, so early decision-makers are at an advantage.
Within 5 days of your registration, you will need to pay a deposit of 35% to confirm your trip. After that, you have up to 45 days before departure to modify your options and pay the balance. If you change your options, the total amount will be recalculated automatically.
If you didn’t opt for damage coverage, you will also need to pay a deposit before departure (more info in the insurance section).

Yes, the main roads are well maintained and traffic flows smoothly. You just need to adjust your driving to the wind, the sheep (often on the road!), and the weather. Note: a road tax per kilometer has been in effect since January 2026.

No, it's extremely dangerous and prohibited. The water is icy (often between 2 and 8°C), the currents are strong, and the rocks are slippery. Every year, tourists die by ignoring these dangers. Enjoy the waterfalls from a distance, safely.

Most of the waterfalls are free. Only a few parking areas are paid (Seljalandsfoss: 800 ISK, Svartifoss via Skaftafell National Park: 750 ISK). This is one of the perks of Iceland: the most beautiful natural sites are accessible to everyone without any entry fees.
